I noticed my coworker watering her plant today and thought…I am like that plant.
When I was a little girl I used to help my mom water her flowers in the flower boxes and I thought you had to pour the water on the leaves and flowers, but I was wrong.
It’s not the pretty, flourishing outside that you need to nourish and care for
It’s the roots, the things burried in the dirt and sometimes, literal shit. My roots are dry and brittle, they’re decaying and while the external blooms try to turn to the sun for nourishment, they are met with grey skies, unforgiving cold and harsh winds.
